Social Networking for Design Explodes

Back in August we begun experimenting in the area of social networking using the Ning platform on a site that would provide a communication and collaboration platform for architects and designers from all over the world.

The project was an “extension” of Design Stories, a Greek website for architecture.

Less than 5 months later, the site has reached 1170 members, most of them architects and designers that upload their work and participate in the dialogue.

Next goal for us is to reach 2000 in February and at a latter stage to enhance the site with e-commerce capabilities

We anticipate to finalize all the above by the end of October where we will include them in our new structured portfolio

Two new projects live from Sentel

Adelson Associates Inc. a Montreal based insurance consultancy firm trusted Sentel for the development of their corporate website.

AAIC was founded back in 1979 by Ronald Adelson, a well-known insurance executive with business experience both in Canada and the USA. In 2003, Angie Babanicos partnered with Ron and then took over the operations and ownership following Ron’s retirement. The business has since grown but has always maintained the same level of customized service and professionalism.

Omniphos a Greek company that specializes in photovoltaic turnkey solutions also went live last week. The site presents company’ services and addresses the Greek public that is interested in this market from small scale solutions to large projects.

Design Stories Social Network on Ning

We have recently start experimenting with the Ning platform, an engine that allows users to build fast and relatively easy online communities.

In essence you can build your own Facebook application, of course with less features, but still quite powerful.

We used it to start building an online community for architects and interior designers. All of you who are interested you can see what this is about at http://mydesignstories.net

The social networking site was built in order to support http://designstories.gr a project that went live a couple of months ago with a need to provide our visitors a place where they can interact with each other.

A Canadian version in order to cover the North American market is on its way http://designstories.ca

In the near future we will customize this more, by also using a simple e-commerce solution as Paypal and also will be able to offer this as a solution to our clients.
